Me? I’m wordhappy. I like anything and everything to do with words: using them, playing with them, learning about them, twisting them, dissecting them, tweaking them. To me, the best thing about language is using it to say the exact thing I want to say, the exact way I want to say it.
Good writing is when the reader doesn’t notice anything wrong.
If a sentence is poorly worded, there are grammatical or spelling errors, or text is ambiguous or unclear, the reader is subconsciously distracted by this, and possibly forms a negative impression.
How many times have you gone to a website for information only to find it unclear or written in a sloppy way, and decided to go instead to its competitor with the clean, clear website?
